The short version: Recory is a one-time purchase of $1.99, processed by Apple. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app. All your content stays on your device and belongs to you.
By downloading, installing, or using the Recory application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the developer of Recory ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply in addition to any terms imposed by the Apple App Store.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
Recory is available for a one-time purchase of $1.99 USD (or the equivalent price in your local currency as displayed on the App Store). This is a single, permanent payment — there are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or in-app purchases.
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. By completing a purchase, you agree to Apple's payment terms.
All purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not have the ability to issue refunds independently. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
All photographs, journal entries, text, and other content you create within the App ("Your Content") belong to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.
Your Content is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of Your Content. We are not liable for any loss of Your Content due to device failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause.
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and all associated materials, is owned by the Developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the App other than the limited license described in Section 2.
The "Recory" name and logo are proprietary to the Developer. You may not use them without prior written permission.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any other damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
The App uses certain third-party services for weather data (Open-Meteo) and optional custom fonts (Google Fonts). Your use of these features is subject to the respective third parties' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these services.
Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms will govern with respect to App Store matters.
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance with respect to the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to any changes, you should stop using the App.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States.
