Frequently Asked Questions

Tap the camera button on the Home tab. Recory opens the in-app camera so you can capture a photo for today. You can add text overlays, choose a filter, pick a font, and adjust the look before saving.
Yes. Tap the camera button again to capture another moment for the same day. All photos from a single day are grouped together in one memory entry, and you can browse them by tapping any day in the Calendar.
After capturing a photo, type in the text field at the top of the editor. Use the toolbar at the bottom to change the font, size, color, and opacity. Drag your text anywhere on the photo to reposition it, and pinch to resize. You can add multiple independent text layers using the layer chips at the bottom of the toolbar.
Open a memory from the Calendar or Home screen, then tap a photo to view it full screen. Tap the delete button (trash icon) to remove that photo. If a memory entry has only one photo, deleting it will remove the entire entry.
In the full-screen photo viewer, long-press on any text overlay for about half a second. It will be removed from the photo.
Open a photo in the full-screen viewer and tap the share button. You can choose to share the photo with your text overlays included, without text, or as the original full-resolution image.
Your streak counts how many consecutive days you've captured at least one memory. If you capture a memory today or yesterday, your streak stays active. Missing a full calendar day resets it to zero. The Home screen shows your current streak and a 7-day history indicator.
Go to the Settings tab and enable Daily Reminder. When prompted, allow Recory to send notifications. Once enabled, you can tap the time badge to set your preferred reminder time.
Open Settings and scroll to Appearance. Tap any gradient swatch to set a color theme, or tap the photo icon to use one of your own photos as the background. You can also pick a custom color, or enable Blur to soften a photo background.
In the photo editor, tap the Font button in the toolbar. Browse the available fonts and tap the download icon next to any font to install it. Once downloaded, tap it to apply. Downloaded fonts are cached on your device and don't need to be downloaded again.
Since Recory is a paid app, your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. If you reinstall the app or install it on a new device, simply download it again from the App Store using the same Apple ID — you won't be charged again. If you're still having trouble, contact Apple support at reportaproblem.apple.com.
All your memories are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app will remove all your data. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your data may be included in your device backup and restored when you reinstall. We recommend keeping iCloud Backup active to protect your memories.
